Importing Data

Is it possible to import from an Access 97 database to Excel 2003? If so are there any restrictions?

RE: Importing Data

Hi Jane,

Thank you for your question

There should be no difficulty in importing the data you need.

Simply click on data-import external data-Import Data

In the file type combo box select Access database and then locate the file on your system. You will then be given a list of tables and queries from which to select the required data.

Another option is to choose data-import external data-New Database Query, this then gives you a list of file types to import from and specifically includes access 97 databases.

Hope this is useful

Regards

Stephen

Excel tip:

COUNT function vs COUNTA function

The COUNTA function works in the same way as the COUNT function, except that it will count cells that contain text (labels) and also cells that contain numbers (values). The COUNT function will only count cells that contain numbers. Blank cells are not counted by either the COUNT or the COUNTA function.
