Dear Angela

Thank you for attending PowerPoint Introduction course. I hope you enjoyed the training.

The question you asked is an interesting one. You have mentioned two things in your post. Bookmarks and also Contents (I assume by this you mean Table Of content).

Please bear in mind that when you create a Table of contents by default the links are already created. You simply have to keep the CTRL button pressed while you click on the specific Topic on the Table of Content.

If you need help to create Table of Contents then please follows these steps:

Table of contents depends on the Styles such as Heading 1, Heading 2 , etc… So please ensure that you have set all your headings to one of the styles that Word offers you.

Step 1: On the Menu Bar click on the Insert > Reference > Index and Tables…
Step 2: Click on the Table of Contents tab
Step 3: In the Index and Tables Dialog box please make sure that there is a check in the use hyperlinks instead of page numbers.
Step 4: You can choose different Format and also Tab Leader for your table of Content.
Step 5: Press OK

NB: You do not have to create any bookmarks because Word knows where the positions of the various styles are and it automatically.

Table of contents are particularly useful for keeping the page numbers and the changes in the headings up-to-date.

I hope this has helped in answering your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to answer that!!

Kindest Regards

Dear Amy

Please refer to this Uploaded Word Doc which contains Table of contents. This will hopefully help you to understand my previous post better.

Please notice that I have changed various heading to either Heading 1, 2 or 3.

Kindest Regards
