What is the best way of importing external data (for example from excel) to the table in the database but not by "copying and pasting"?
Is it possible to create a link or makro that will import the data for you by pressing a butom.

RE: Access

Hi Malgorzata, Thank you for the post, In answer to your question you have the option to link to an external table or in the case of your question to an excel spreadsheet. If linking to an Excel sheet the sheet must be created as a database or as a list, this requires the rules of database to be adhered to; ie. no gap between field headings and data the data should be consistent with the heading, where a row gap or column gap appears the table will be considered to have ended etc.
Using the Menu command File, Get External Data, Change your file type to Excel Spreadsheet, choose link and navigate to your chosen file; follow the wizard options to select your choices. I hope that helps best regards Pete.

Access tip:

How To Find All Overdue Accounts?

To find overdue accounts create a filter that compares today's date with the Invoice Date in the table. To do this:

1. Open the Query in Design View
2. Select the field for the filter and in the criteria row enter:

<Date()

This filter returns records where the Invoice Date is before today's date.

This filter can be manipulated if, for instance, Invoices are due 15 days after the Invoice Date. For this the filter would be:

<Date()-15

This filter returns records where the Invoice Date is 15 days before today's date.
