what is the quickest way to do a SUMIF for every occurence in a range? how can I check that every occurence has been picked up, and picked up once only?

Hi Diana,
Thanks for the post, In answer to your question, consider the syntax, =SUMIF(RANGE TO CHECK, CRITERIA, RANGE TO SUM) this will consider a range of cells, look for a particular item, and then total the corresponding cells in another range. It should normally not be necessary to check, for so long as the criteria has correct matches in the range to check, it will work correctly. Hi again Diana, having had time to consider your question again, perhaps you could use the Conditional Sum Wizard, this is an Add In and like Solver needs to be added to your ribbons. The operation is a wizard so follow the steps, it is similar to a SUMIF but enables you to add more variables. I hope that helps best regards Pete.

Selecting constant values only

If periodically you need to change all your values back to zero, but leave formulas, text and blank cells as they are select the entire worksheet, choose F5 function key, Special and then Constants and choose the appropriate sub-selections. To enter zero in all the selected cells type 0 and then press Ctrl+Enter.
