I am not sure what your question implies but I assume you meant that why do we need to record macros.

The main reason for creating Macros is when you find yourself performing repetitive tasks and want to automate them. Typical examples could be that every time you open a new workbook you have to always change the page setup to landscape and change the margins to specific measurements.

It is advisable to record group of actions as macros that are related. You can even create a Macro using VBA which can have customised function.

Please bear in mind that whatever action you are about to record as macro you should be confident in carrying out those actions. If you make mistakes then those mistakes will get recorded as well.
