Re-organising table fields
Mark has attended:
I would like to revise the order that fields appear withn the design view of the main data table of a database in use. I know I can do this by manually dragging the fields, this is what I want to do. Is there possibly going to be any problem with operation of any queries (and forms based on those queries) or any other problem if I do this. I have tried it on small test database with no problem but would like more confidence with the big one (even though I would make a copy of the table first). This is a split databse incase that makes any difference.
RE: Re-organising table fields
Changing the order of the columns will not affect any queries. As long as you do not change the name of the column or table then you will be fine. Nothing will ever relate to the ordering of the columns. Its always good to take backups, but you will be fine to do this.
