How do you restore a Database which has become corrupt?
RE: Corrupt Databases
Dear Jas
Thank you for attending Access and Excel training. I hope you enjoyed the trainings and benefited from them.
As Access is such as Technical course it is always advisable that you always have a backup copy of the database.
But however if the data does get corrupted then you can try the Compact and repair feature but I would strongly advise you to back up your database and have another copy of it in a different location.
Step 1: Start Access
Step 2: Tools > Database Utilities> Compact and Repair Database…
Step 3: In the Database to Compact from dialog box select the “corrupted database” and choose Compact button.
Step 4: In the Compact database into dialog box change the location if required and provide a new name for the database and press save.
Step 5: Once you have compacted and repaired the database then simply go to the location and open the new database and hopefully it would have repaired the database for you.
NB: Along with repairing it also decreases the size (Compacts) the database.
I hope this helps.
