On my database the date format is set as English dd/mm/yy, although this appears right on the form and table, when the data is used and mail merged into a document , the date comes out in the American format mm/dd/yy. Help please

Hi Nova, Thank you for your post, Sorry been away for a while, in answer to your post:
1. In Word: Check out the language setting on your status bar, ensure that this is set to English UK, if this is not the case, double-click on the option shown (English US) and change your default settings to English UK.
2. If this does not resolve the problem then you will need to change your language settings in Office Setup:
3. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Complex Scripts tab.
4. If you don’t see the Complex Scripts tab follow these steps:
5. Exit all Microsoft Office programs, including Word.
6. Do one of the following:
7. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, then on the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings.
8. If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000, then on the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings.
9. Click the Enabled Languages tab.
10. If the language that you want to use (English UK) is not in the list of enabled languages, select it in the Available languages box, and then click Add.
11. The language appears in the Enabled languages box.
12. Click OK.
13. Start Word.
14. Ensure that English UK appears in the Language tab on the Status bar, if this is not the case then go to 1. above.
I hope that helps, best regards, Pete.

Access tip:

Copy a Previous Record's Values to a New Record

If you often enter the same value in one field of a table, there are two methods to save re-typing the data.

1. Use Ctrl+' (apostrophe) to repeat the value input in the previous record.

2. Change the field's DefaultValue property in Design View to the most commonly used value.
