Entering new records in Access 2007
Mirja has attended:
How can I enter/add new records in the form view and utilise previous entries: eg if we have multiple entries where the contact details would be almost similar in our contacts database?
RE: Entering new records in Access 2007
Hi Mirja, Thank you for the post, welcome to the forum, in answer to your question, I realise that your database is already set up, however where you have duplication of data it is perhaps more correct when considering Database Normalisation, to hive these fields off into another table and link to that table by creating a relationship on a one to many basis, then when utilising a query to add/enter new records, where the one side is common to the records, the many side is the only part which needs to be updated or added to. In the situation that you find yourself there is a keyboard combination CTRL+' (apostrophy) which will duplicate information as found in the same field in the previous record. I hope that is of help, best regards Pete
