Hi Don, Thank you for your post, In answer to your question, this is a subject which is covered under data validation.
The data in your drop downs can be lifted from a cell range in your workbook or can be typed manually as a custom list. If the data is lifted from a cell range, editing or deleting items from that range will affect subsequent (not historic) data in your selections. To create a drop down box for data entry follow these steps; Select the range to which you wish to apply the drop down entries, go to the menu command Data>Validation and choose List from the dialog box Allow drop down, you can then enter the cell locations of your list or type [separated by commas (,)] in the Source text box. Click OK and you will have a drop down entry facility in your worksheet. This can be repeated as many times as you wish. I hope that has explained it sufficiently, enjoy, best regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Counting Non Number Cells (Text)

If you try to use the COUNT FUNCTION =COUNT(Cell range)with a range of cells with numbers and or containing text fields you wil find that that the text cells will be excluded from the the count. If you want to include them try the the COUNTA FUNCTION =COUNTA(Cell range). This counts both text and number cell values.
