Hi Edward,

That totally depends on your Excel requirements!

If you need the new features, or your colleagues/friends are using the new features and you need access to their files or you are sharing files, then clearly an upgrade is required.

However, if you're happy using 2003 or earlier and it isn't affecting your work or tasks, then personally I would just continue using 2003.

It really is a personal choice.

Perhaps have a play with the online demo of Office 2007 and see if you think the upgrade is worth it.

Excel tip:

Formula for last day of month

In some cases it is necessary to find the last day of a month for a given date. If you use the following formula, you can achieve this, ie; if you have a column of dates, use this formula to find the end of month for each day by using the fill handle. The formula is as follows, and assumes in this example that the first date in question is in cell C5, in any other cell type; =DATE(YEAR(C5),MONTH(C5)+1,1)-1
