Hi Charlotte, Thank you for the post, in answer to your question, I need just a little more information please; you say get rid of a white background, if you have copied and pasted the chart or table it will act like a graphic, and you should remove any backgrounds or fill colours before copying it to the presentation, if however you have used the Menu command Insert>Object to Browse and link your chart or table to your presentation then by double-clicking on the object it will open the original program to allow you to format it and remove backgrounds or fill colours.
