RE: Highlighting cells

Hi Nikki, Welcome to the forum, Thank you for your post, This is a great question and one which has had a lot of people stumped, but to sort your problem we have to use a little cheating;
Follow these steps;
1. View just the subtotals you wish to highlight (Click level 2 or similar)
2. Select just the cells you want to highlight
Here comes the cheat
3. Click Edit>Go To (Ctrl+G)
4. In the dialog box click the Special Button
5. In the Go To Special dialog box select Visible Cells Only
Click Ok - Now Format the cells as required; Click to View all of your Datasheet and you will see only the Selected cells have been formatted.
Do you like it? If so please click the Resolved link, best regards Pete Emmerson Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor

Excel tip:

Importing Numbers in Excel 2010

Occasionally, when importing data into Excel you find that the some of the imported values are treated as text.

To convert these numbers to actual values, click on an empty cell and press Ctrl+C.

Next, select the range that contains the values you need to change and in the Clipboard Group on the Home tab, click the Paste drop-down arrow and choose Paste Special. In the Paste Special dialog box, select Add and then click OK.
