Sharing resources across projects. Is data integrity preserved if smaller projects are saved in one project? or vice versa? i.e. larger projects are split up?

Could you please clarify what you mean by data integrity?

Splitting larger projects can be advantageous from the point of tracking and controlling the project, although this is often more a case of splitting individual tasks into small tasks of no more than a few hours duration.

By data integrity I mean if you combine projects into one big project then I expect that the data that is imported with the small projects remains unaltered? So if you take a large project and take out sections of it say fro example if you wanted to use it in an other project does the data still remain intact i.e. notjhing is lost?
