If one wished to show numbers to decimal places in a column where an entry is not an whole number, but not have .00 if an entry is a whole number is that possible and how does one do it?

Hi David

By default cells are formatted so that if you enter a number with a decimal, it shows decimals, and if you enter a whole number it will only show the number.

However, if there is additional formatting on the cell (like currency, or comma formats), then the number is forced to show the decimal.

So, you could format the cells to their original state.

Select the relevant cells, Right-Click, FORMAT CELLS.
Chose the GENERAL number format (top).
Click OK.

That should do it.
