Having had a brief outline of how to create them, is it possible to draw in information from outher software applications?

Hope you enjoyed your course yesterday, you can quite easily
use other data sources for your pivot table when you to the data menu and pivot table, the first step is where you can choose other data sources

all you need to make sure of is that the file you are going to use is saved as a data source, the most common ones are access, and word data files like the ones you would use in a mail merge source document
