When do you copy a spreadsheet on to a new page does it carry over the formular?

Hi Maryann,

Thank you for your Excel question.

Generally, everytime when you copy & paste a cell the formula carries over to the destination. However, it is important to make sure the references are still valid on the destination sheet.

For example, if on the original sheet, there is a formula in cell C1 reading =A1+B1.
If you then copy this formula but paste it on a new sheet in cell A1. You will not get a valid answer as there are no data above it for any calculation.

Closing Multiple Workbooks quickly

When you have several workbooks open in Excel and want to just close them all at once:

1) Hold down the SHIFT key before selecting the File menu.

2) Once in File menu release SHIFT key and select Close All option.

3) All your files will close. If files require saving Excel will ask if you want to save the changes.
