Hi Teresa

Thanks for your question. I've assumed that you have some costs associated with your tasks and that a baseline has been saved too.

With that all set try this:

Insert a new column and select the Cost1 field. We'll use this column to display the graphical indicator.

From the Tools menu choose customize. Select the Custom fields tab and make sure Type is set to Cost. From the list of text fields available choose Cost1(it's probably already selected for you)

We need to set this field to get the current cost of the task so click on the formula button and enter the name of the field we are going to test. The field name should be in square brackets e.g. [cost] and click on OK and OK again. On your table you will see the column you created now has a the cost of each task displayed.

Go back into Tools > customize and choose cost1 again. This time click on Graphical Indicators. In the first row choose "is less than or equal to" and in the field cell enter [baseline cost]. Finally in the image cell choose a symbol to show if the test is met (eg the green ball)

Lastly on the next row down enter the test "is greater than", the field will be [baseline cost] again and the graphical indicator can be the red ball. Click OK to accept the edits and OK again.

Now if a task costs more than its baseline cost Project will show a red indicator rather than a green one.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Andrew
