Date Formatting

How do I change the date from US format to UK format and can I change the default date that it uses?
RE: Date Formatting
Hello Jenny,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel course with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding Date Formatting.
The date is usually set in Windows and Excel will take its formatting from there.
If you go to START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL, and then select REGIONAL AND DATE SETTINGS, you can change the UK / USA settings for your machine. You may wantt o ask your system administrator to assist you with this, as I do not recommend that you take this route.
To change the Date setting in an Excel cell, simply go to FORMAT CELLS and then choose the date Region on the DATE category of the NUMBER TAB.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Richard
