Can you link cells from an Excel spreadheet into the resource sheet of MS Project? In particular materials and their costs from an existing spreadsheet?

Hi David,

Thank you for your question.

There are two ways of doing it. The first way is just to copy and paste the data into the relevant resources columns.

The second way is importing the data into your Project.
Open Project and then go to File and Open. Navigate to and select the excel file you want to use.

You will then be presented with the Import wizard. You will have the option to choose Resources and costs.

The next step is to map the fields in your spreadsheet against the field names in your project resource sheet. Once the wizard is complete the data will appear in your Resource sheet.

I hope this helps you.

Regards

Simon
