Hello John,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel course with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding Formatting Dates.

There are several ways you can format a date. The quickest and easiest way is to right click on the cell containing the number or date you want to format, and then choose FORMAT CELLS.

On the NUMBER Tab,m you will see a list of categories on the left. In that list you will see DATE. click on that, and then see the options that become available to you on the right of the interface. Here you can select one of many variations of the date. If you want to switch to another country date format, you can do so by using the drop down menu below the date options on the right of this interface.

If you want to furhter format a date, you can use the CUSTOM Category to format a date specifically, using the following characters as placeholders.

d = day
m = month
y = year

Example:
ddd, d mmm yy
will give you a result like this
Sat, 1 Jun 08

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
Regards,

Richard
