Pivot tables

In a pivot table that i am using, i was able to sort the data quite easily via the "Data => Sort", but since I have manipulated it, when i try to sort the screen updates, but the pivot table does not sort.

Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Hi Kevin

Thank you for your question.

Have you tried clicking the Refresh button once you have sorted? There is a pivot table toolbar that will likely appear in your Excel window when you select a cell inside the pivot table area. If not go to View - Toolbars - PivotTable.

Then click the button with the red exclamation mark (the Refresh button).

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately refreshing the data doesn't resolve the issue.

Any other ideas?

I am trying to resolve this issue for you. to help me could you clarify the following for me please

1. Are you sorting the data in the original table, or in the pivot table?
2. How exactly are yoy carrying out the "screen updates"?

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
