Closing spreadsheets

When I close a spreadsheet in excel it closes down all other spreadsheets that are open on my computer. This occurs even if i have minimised the sheet, meaning it can not be attributed to a sticky key. Any ideas please?

Hi Nick

Thanks for your question.

This might be occuring because you are clicking on the 'X' button to close the Excel program (which will close all Excel files you have open) rather than the 'X' button just to close the file you are working on.

The 'X' button in the very top right of your screen closes all Excel files whereas the 'X' button underneath it closes just the one Excel file.

Let me know if this solves your problem or not.

Here's a fast way of printing a spreadsheet from Windows Explorer/My Computer.

Go to the location where the spreadsheet is saved on your computer, then right-click on the icon next to the document and select Print from the menu.

The spreadsheet will automatically open, print and close itself.
