Is there a way to 'subtotal' either qty, total price etc.. in a report?

As an example, it is possible to hide duplicates, and this gives a view similar to below:-

Product Name Order ID Amount
Cinammon 1 20
2 30
3 40
Ginger 4 10
5 15
Tumeric 6 50

by subtotalling, the view would look something like:-

Product Name Amount
Cinammon 90
Ginger 25
Tumeric 50

Many thanks

Hello Chris,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Access courses with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding Subtotaling in reports

Yes, you can subtotal in a report. The simplest way is to use the Report wizard, group your ProductName and then on the next step (Sort), click on SUMMARY OPTIONS. You then get a chance to choose what you want to summarise, SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE, etc.

Once the report is setup via the wizard, you can then adjust it via the design view.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
Regards,

Richard

Access tip:

How To Find All Overdue Accounts?

To find overdue accounts create a filter that compares today's date with the Invoice Date in the table. To do this:

1. Open the Query in Design View
2. Select the field for the filter and in the criteria row enter:

<Date()

This filter returns records where the Invoice Date is before today's date.

This filter can be manipulated if, for instance, Invoices are due 15 days after the Invoice Date. For this the filter would be:

<Date()-15

This filter returns records where the Invoice Date is 15 days before today's date.
