Pseudo selectors

Pseudo selectors
Under the pseudo selectors, there are items such as h1, h2 etc. Are theese just generic headers that I can modify or do they relate to specific web objects.Also can someone please refresh my momory about DTD and how and why I have to use this. In my training notes I have a reference to "opening DTD.txt" but I cannot find that file anywhere. Is is automatically created somehow?
