Hi there

I am wanting to link part of a text form field in a template to another text form field at the end of my template as follows:

Dear Sirs needs to be linked to the close of the letter: Yours faithfully

However, if the person writing the letter knows the persons name, I need to leave them the option of typing in the form field the following:

Dear Name - this needs to be linked to the close of the letter: Yours sincerely.

How can I go about this? I almost need to insert an IF function as you use in Excel. I have tried the IF field but I dont think this does exactly the same as the excel IF function.

Please advise.

Many thanks

Dear Katie

Thanks for your post. We may be able to help with this but we would need to see a sample of your Word document for review.

This does fall outside the parameters of this forum however we are happy to look at your request, let you know if we can help and how much associated time/cost this will be.

If you wish to proceed then please do contact us.

Regards

Jacob

Word tip:

Import Web page text without its formatting

Frequently when text is imported into a Word document using a standard copy and paste, all the formatting from the Web page is brought over into the Word document too - which can look strange and lead to time consuming reformatting of the text.

Instead of using a standard Paste, try copying the Web page text; then go to Edit - Paste Special on the menu bar.

Select the Unformatted text option and click OK to bring over just the text from the Web page without all the formatting.
