Tracked changes and Symbols

I have tracked changes switched on and when I want to copy an inserted symbol I inserted earlier in the document, the symbol appears smaller in size, yet on another page where I have copied the symbol, it is the normal size. Can you please help as I would like the symbols when copied in tracked changes to be all one size (the normal size it should be)?

Many thanks

RE: Tracked changes and Symbols

Hello Katie

Thank you for your question.

Does the symbol only appear smaller when you copy and paste it with track changes on, or does it happen when track changes are switched off (i.e. does this only happen when the track changes is on)?

RE: Tracked changes and Symbols

Hi Amanda

Thanks for your reply.

The symbol appears smaller when the tracked changes are on. But earlier in the document where the symbols are copied and paste, the symbols are the size they are to be

RE: Tracked changes and Symbols

Hi Katie

This seems very strange. Normally the only reason a symbol would appear smaller would be to do with the font size of the symbol, so I would check that (highlight the symbol and check the font size); or the font size allocated to the paragraph, if the symbol has been inserted at the end of a paragraph. If it has, then I would turn on the Show/Hide button and highlight the paragraph marker and see what font size it is.

Otherwise you might find that the symbol may just appear this way on screen, and possibly also in Print Preview. If the document is only going to be read/viewed in hard copy, try printing the page it is on to see if the symbol appears smaller when printed.

These are the only suggestions I can think of at this stage.
