Thanks for your question. Project focusses on three variables: Duration, Units of Resource and Work. When resources are assigned to tasks Project is able to work out how the three values relate to each other so that a change in one variable has a knock on effect on one of the remaing two.

You may be able to get a useful output calculation by using custom fields and linking them to exisiting values in your project such as Actual work.

From the Tools menu choose customize > fields

You might choose a number field to store the results of your calculation. Click on formula to carry out some maths. So if 1 hour of actual work equals 5 widgets produced you might enter [actual work]*5
