Hello Jules,

Hope you enjoyed your DreamWeaver Introduction course with BEST Training.
Thank you for your question regarding creating your own website.

Your question is broad, and contains many possible responses.

There are several elements that you need to be familiar with to create a website.

SITE SETUP
Firstly, use the SITE Menu to setup a folder to contain youer website. Also setup the FTP settings so that you can upload your website to the webserver.

TEXT, IMAGES, TABLES
When you first setup your new webpage, you may want to use a table to give some structure to your website.
By inserting a table, you can create rows for certain areas, such as the header and footer, where you can add standard pictures and text. You might also consider using template to make future pages quicker and easier to create.

FTP upload
Once you have the webpage done and saved, you can preview it using the F12 button. Once you are happy with it, you can upload it using the FTP window (top right), to copy the files from your local machine to the webserver.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
Regards,

Richard

Dreamweaver tip:

Testing a site

When developing a site, you have to cater to the widest possible audience allowing for users with different browsers and display settings.
Test pages to see how they look with:

- different display resolutions
- browser with graphics turned off
- many different browsers not just IE
- if possible different operating systems.
