WhenI share a workbook that has VBA coding in it, does the VBA code breakdown and not run because the workbook is shared?
As soon as I take the sharing function off the code works perfectly.

Macros should run OK when you share a workbook; but you cannot view or edit the code. Have you also password protected the workbook? If so then this could cause the problem.
If this is not the case or doesn't could you give me some idea what the macro is doing

Thanks for your help.
The VBA code called Auto_Open unhides rows then rehides them if certain criteria is met.
This needs to happen as some people will not have finished one of their tasks and it automatically runs forward to the next week. Obviously tasks that have been completed or rows that do not have any tasks, do not need to be in the following week as this will just make the spreadsheet unnecessarily large. Hope that made sense!
The rows that are carried forward need to be password protected to stop people changing the formulas etc but if that is what is causing the problem then I'll have to trust people not to mess with it!

It is possible to protect a worksheet, whilst still allowing the user to format, in this case hide, columns.
When you protect the worksheet you are given a list of actions that the user can do. If you tick the "format columns " option, then that should allow the macro to hide the required columns.
Without seeing your workbook its difficult to say if this will work. I suggest you give it a try and let me know how it goes
