Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

Vlookup is a function within Excel to lookup dataup from a table of information. The table of information must have in its first column a list of unique values.

You need to enter 4 values

Lookup_Value - Value to search for in the table
Table_Array - Location of the table
Col_Index_Num - Which column number to return
Range_Lookup - Will an approximate match be okay

Example

=VLOOKUP(C2,Customers!A:D,3,False)

Excel tip:

Select only cell that contain text to lock format

For selecting cells that only contain Text in Excel

By selecting cells that only contain text, you can delete, fill or protect cells of this type.

Use short cut to Go to box (F5) or Edit, Go to
In the dialog box, click special button & select Constants and only check text or any other desired type.

Click OK.

And text cells will all be highlighted for you to apply format. Please note only works on one sheet at a time.
