Dear Chetna

A variable is a name used to represent a value. It is used to hold temporary values needed in the running of the VBA code.

A variable name identifies a unique location in memory where a value may be stored temporarily

The syntax is Dim VariableName As Type eg

Dim Total Sales as Currency
