RE: V + H Lookup

Hello Gemma

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

The V and HLOOKUP functions allow you to get Excel to find a specific piece of information in the left most column (for VLOOKUP) or top row of a table (for HLOOKUP), and then extract a corresponding value from another column (VLOOKUP) or row (HLOOKUP) in the table.

We cover these functions as part of our Excel Advanced training course.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Using basic functions without doing formulas

When you highlight figures Autocalc tells you the total in the bottom right of the screen, but if you right click on the sum it will give you some basic functions. The functions are Min, Max, Average, Sum, Count, and Count Nums.
