RE: Text editing

Hi Anne,

Thanks for your question. I hope you enjoyed the Dreamweaver course.

What kind of clarification are you after?

I'd recommend using Cascading Style Sheets, as would have been covered in your course. You can use style sheets to help format your text exactly as you want it.

If you use a global style sheet (link to a separate file), you can then effectively change your entire site (or just one particular style) with one simple change to the .css file.

You can still use <strong> and <em> files for basic formatting, but the old days of colour definitions in <font> tags is long gone. Mind you, it's good to learn these basics so you know how the mark-up language works.

If this answer resolves your query, please mark the question as 'resolved' (see below). Otherwise, please post a follow-up response to this post, and I will assist you further.

Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:

Testing a site

When developing a site, you have to cater to the widest possible audience allowing for users with different browsers and display settings.
Test pages to see how they look with:

- different display resolutions
- browser with graphics turned off
- many different browsers not just IE
- if possible different operating systems.
