Thank you for your question.
As far as I am concerned you cannot protect tables in PowerPoint. I presume you are are trying to stop people from editing the values in the table.
There are two possible workarounds:
1. try copying the word table and Paste Special as a picture into the slide.
2. Create the table in a PowerPoint slide and copy and paste special it as a picture into the slide in the appropriate presentation.
