How should databases and systems be displayed in a process flow and what shapes should be used?

RE: Shapes

Hi Emma

Thank you for your question, and welcome to the forum.

Apologies for the delay in response, I hope you are finding it easier to create Visio diagrams at work now.

With regards to database diagrams, if you go to Help in Visio, and select Microsoft Office Visio Help you should see the Help task pane open on the right of the screen.

Click the Table of Contents link in the task pane to view the full Help contents.

Click the Creating Drawings link, then click on the Database Diagrams link. You should then be able to find further information on using Database related templates and stencils.

I hope this helps.

Amanda

Visio tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Visio 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Visio 2010 as well as Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
