You will find using MS Project more straightforward if you have an understanding of the way Projects are organised (in particular the ideas behind creating your list of activities, and the underlying logic involved in linking tasks together).

Instead of closing or savng all your files one by one, you can do this in one step by holding the SHIFT key whilst clicking on the FILE menu.

You will then see a Close All and Save All option in the menu
