Hi Caroline,
Thank you for your question;
In answer; to insert a picture from a file, the internet, or any other source ie memory stick. open the slide you wish to place the photograph on and use the menu command Insert>Picture>From File, navigate to your source and select the graphic then click Insert. You might find it necessary to adjust the size of the graphic.
I find a quick way of restricting the size of the graphic and keeping all proportions is to draw a shape using the drawing toolbar and then to fill the shape with the picture... this way you can pre-determine the size and proportions of the picture before you insert it.... Pete
