Symbols

Hi

Please can somebody explain how the {} symbols work?! I have them surrounding a formula in a cell which is an invalid formula but the cell still returns a number that is always the same. If I try to edit the formula or remove the {}, the cell rightly reverts to a VALUE!# error. Where has the number come from?

Regards
Tom

RE: Symbols

Hello Tom

Thank you for your question.

Formulas that occur inside {} are array formulas. I would suggest looking up arrays in Excel Help to be able to troubleshoot what is going on with the formula. But the formula definitely won't work if you remove the {}

Kind regards
Amanda
