Tracking costs and resources

how do you track resources time when 2 or more resources are working on the same task but they will not be spending the same amount of time on the task?

For upcoming training course dates see: Pricing & availability

RE: tracking costs and resources

Hi Adeeba

thank you for your question. You may find it easier to work in the Task Usage view (View > Resource Usage). This view shows the project organised by Task and then lists all the resources assigned to that task. By right click on the time phased information to the right you can add an actual row for each assignment. This allows you to track actual work by resource for each task.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Ms project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

a. Highlight the column or columns you wish to alter the width of.
b. Double click the dividing line between the columns. This dividing line is the break between the columns on the column headers (grey buttons showing the column letter at the top of each column). When you hover your mouse over one of these dividing lines the point will change and show an arrow pulling a line in two directions. When you have this mouse pointer you should double click to get Project to automatically set the column width to fit the contents of the column (autofit)
