Primary key and first field in a table...

Primary key and first field in a table...

Does thje first field in the table have to be a number? Like account number etc? or can it be text? and also can i confrim that if so this would be the primary key?

Hi Emma,
Thank you for your question;
In reply: No it does not have to be a number, you can use text for a primary key as well, the only stipulation is that it must be unique... ie for a Department Table, MK for Marketing, SA for Sales, FI for Finance all perfectly acceptable, account number could be a mixture of both ie company name and number Tesco = TES01 -- get the picture?
