Thanks for your post - sorry for my late reply
the best way to insert a PDF is either go to the insert tab, and locate object and go through there and create new - or click the create from file tab and locate the PDF file just make sure if you use this from file (click link to file that mean things will be upto date if the PDF changes

Viewing the whole dropdown menu bar

If you dont like having to point to the double chevron to see the full menus, you can click on Tools, Customise and the options tab.

Clci on Always show full menus to see the full drop down menu bar.
