The choose function return the value of a list of values based on its position. For example,

=CHOOSE(1, Don, attended, excel, advanced) would return "Don"
=CHOOSE(2, Don, attended, excel, advanced) would return "attended"
=CHOOSE(3, Don, attended, excel, advanced) would return "excel"
=CHOOSE(4, Don, attended, excel, advanced) would return "advanced"

hope that helps

Tracy

Excel tip:

Get to the end of the used range

What’s the quickest way to get to the bottom right of the used range in your spreadsheet? The two-handed method is Ctrl+End (hold down Ctrl and press End). The one-handed method is End Home (press and release End, and then press and release Home).

The last cell so selected may appear to be empty. However, there is a cell in that row that has an entry or a format and there is a cell in that column that has an entry or format.
