RE: project plan printing

Hi Annabel

Thank you for your question -

Printing can be a problem but there are some things you can do to make it easier.

From the menu choose File > Page set-up then from the dialogue box that appears you might decide to use scaling at less that 100% to fit more onto the page. Be warned though this can make the task names too small to read.

As an alternative try choosing the option to print one page wide by one tall.

OK out of the dialogue box and from the view menu choose zoom. You can set the zoom level to show the entire project.

If you still have problems visit page setup again and on the view tab try removing the tick from Fit timescale to end of page. Choose OK, re - zoom as needed and try print preview.

When you do send the output to a printer check the date range in the print dialog box - to make sure it only includes the dates you are interested in.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Ms project tip:

Keep constraining dates to a minimum

As far as possible avoid fixing the dates of your tasks. For example try to steer of clear dragging task bars in the Gantt chart to move them on the timeline or entering dates directly into the Start / Finish fields.

Date constraints such as these limit Microsoft Project's ability to automatically adjust your project whenever you add, remove or modify the duration of your tasks. Instead use the logic in your task dependencies that link your tasks to enable Project to calculate the start and finish dates for you.
