Hi Kate,

Thank you for your question.

A Crosstab query is used when you need to analyse data from a query or table by using column and row headings. You specify your row and column headings and where the two meet or intersect you assign a data value.

E.g. Row heading = Name
Column heading = Car
Data = Salary

This example would show you the staff, the cars they drive and the salary they earn to maybe see if there is a link between your salary and the car you drive.

Copy a Previous Record's Values to a New Record

If you often enter the same value in one field of a table, there are two methods to save re-typing the data.

1. Use Ctrl+' (apostrophe) to repeat the value input in the previous record.

2. Change the field's DefaultValue property in Design View to the most commonly used value.
