RE: Excel Advanced

Hello Stefenia

Thank you for your question and apologies for the delay in response.

I am assuming that you are referring to the practice activity that uses the file called Lookup practice, on the 1v data table sheet.

First you will need to select cell G6 to put your formula into.

Then enter the formula:
=PMT(10%/12,C6,B6)

Then select from F6 down to G21.

Go to Data - Table.

click next to Column input cell and select cell C6.

Click OK.

The table should fill with all the results.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: Excel Advanced

Hi Amanda,

Unfortunately this is not the item I am talking about.
In the documentation "MS Excel 2003 Advanced, Reference Manual" that we are able to take away with us from the course, on page 16 and 17 there begins the section about Creating Data Tables.

Anyway, I tried to recreate the examples that are there and they are not working, so I am confused and want to know where I am going wrong, I follow the examples to the letter but then nothing happens or works like it says it is supposed to.

Can you help me with this please?

Thank you.

Stefania

RE: Excel Advanced

Hello Stefania

I found the example you are referring to, and the book doesn't explain how to set it up correctly.

I've attached a file for you with the example, and a few instructions - hopefully it will work for you.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Status Bar Functions

When using the SUM, MIN, MAX, AVERAGE and COUNT functions, the result of such calculations are displayed in the worksheet.

However, if a range of cells, containing numbers, is highlighted, and then a right-mouse click is performed at the bottom right side of the status bar, then the result of those functions will be displayed.
