Hi HannahIn Powerpoint you can compress pictures to the required resolution. For Printing this is usually 200 dpi (the default)while for a screen presentation its 96 dpi
To compress the pictures in a presentation do the following:
1. Click on the Picture. The Picture toolbar appears
2 On the Picture toolbar click the Compress Pictures button (5 from the right)
3. On the Compress Pictures dialog box select whether you are compressing this picure or ALL pictures.
4. Select the Web/Screen resolution and ensure Compress pictures and Delete Cropped Areas are both selected
5. Click OK
Alternatively you can resize your images by using an external graphics-editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop before adding them to the presentation
