How do I delegate a task?

I want to be able to delegate tasks to people, and then be able to monitor those tasks if I wish to.

RE: How do I delegate a task?

Hi Paris

To assign a task, in the task list do the following:

1. Open the task you want to assign, or create a new task and click Assign Task.

2. In the To box, enter the name of the person you want to assign the task to. To select the name from a list, click the To button.

3. For a new task, in the Subject box, type a task name. (In an existing task, the Subject box is already filled in.)

4. Select the due date and status options you want.

5. Select or clear the Keep an updated copy of this task on my task list check box and the Send me a status report when this task is complete check box.

6. If you want the task to repeat, click the Recurrence button.

7. In the body of the task, type instructions or information about the task.

8. Click Send.

With the options in line 5 above selected every time the user makes any changes to the task and clicks save and close button or marks the task as completed their computer immediately sends you an update e-mail which when opened will update the relevant values to the task in your tasks folder.

Hope this helps

Carlos

Outlook tip:

Quick way to create a distribution list

If you have been sent an email that contains all the names you want in your distribution list then highlight and copy the names from the email. When you get to the address book for adding names paste the names into the members bar.
