Using a Crosstab Query with Text as the Value
Hi,I'm trying to create a Crosstab Query but I get a 'Data Type Mismatch in Criteria Expression' error because the value field for the Crosstab is non-numeric. How do can I do a Crosstab Query with a Text field as the value? I have only one record per column/row match.

RE: Using a Crosstab Query with Text as the Value
Dear FrancescoThank you for your query!
I would appreciate if you could provide me with an example so that I can try to visualise your query!!
Normally in Access when you create Cross tab query you have Row and Column headings. You can have up to three columns headings.
If you are using the Cross tab query wizard in the step you choose the field you would like to have calculation performed you would normally choose the text functions such as Count, etc...
I don't know if you are aware that there is Pivot table functionality in Access. May be that could resolve your query!
Please refer to the following link about Pivot Tables in Access:

I hope this has answered your query.
If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!
Kindest Regards
