RE: Form entry

Hi Adele

One way to make a field mandatory is when creating the table. To do this:

1. Create the field in the table's design view
2. In the General design area for that field set Required to Yes

Then when you try and enter data through the form the table won't update until you have entered the required data.

Hope this helps

Carlos

RE: Form entry

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for your answer - one more thing - can I then set up some text to show if this field is then missed in form entry? Today there's no warning, but the record is not saved.

Many Thanks,
Adele.

Access tip:

Splittng a database

Split your database into two (at least).

Keep all of your code, forms, reports, etc. in one 'code' database and all of your tables in another 'data' database which is then linked to the 'code' database.

This makes modifications, updates and back-ups that much easier and allows you to work on a new version of your 'code' database without affecting existing users. It also makes it easier should you wish to convert a single user databases into a multi-user networked version.
